Teresa Moody has worked as the Secretary for the City of Paradise and is serving in the interim for the Paradise EDC.
Board of Directors
Board Member and President
Jason Abbott joined the Paradise Economic Development Corporation Board in 2015 and currently serves as President. He helps with other non-profit organizations, as well as coaching youth sports in the Paradise Youth Recreation Association.
Jason is a member of the Grace Fellowship Church of Paradise and a graduate from Paradise High School. He is currently a Continuous Improvement Manager at Peterbilt in Denton.
Board Member and Vice President
Shauna Walker serves as Vice President of the Paradise Economic Development Corporation. Shauna, along with her husband Jett and their four children Colton, Camden, Caroline and Cassidy, found their forever home in Paradise back in September 2017. Immediately, she wanted to find a way to get involved within the community. After her introduction to the EDC, she felt like it was a great fit. Shauna have served on various boards over the past several years, including most recently, the White Settlement ISD Educational Foundation, her son’s PTA board as well as our previous neighborhood HOA President.
When she is not running her kids to various sporting events or practices, she also has a small shirt shop and online boutique that keeps her busy. She looks forward to serving the community of Paradise and being an advocate for our local businesses.
Board Member and Secretary
Jim Taylor is a member of the Board of Directors for the Wise County Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of the Paradise Historical Society as Parliamentarian. He has served as a trustee on board of the Paradise ISD. He currently serves the Paradise Church of Christ as minister while working as a funeral director and embalmer s for Jones Family Funeral Home. He retired as Postmaster of Bridgeport after a 38 year career in the United States Postal Service. He was an elder at the Cates Street Church of Christ before going to Paradise.
Jim and his wife Patti have been married for 46 years. He is father to three, all graduates of the Paradise ISD. Jim has 12 grandchildren, five of which are in the Paradise ISD. He has lived in the community for over 30 years with family roots in the community going back over 120 years to the late 1800s.
James F. (Jim) Stegall
Board Member and Treasurer
Jim Stegall was raised on a farm near Willow Point about 14 miles west of Paradise. In 1985, after college, military service, and 17 years in education, Jim returned with his family (wife Pat and four daughters). He continues to be involved in agriculture.
Appointed by five different judges, Jim has represented Wise County at the North Central Texas Council of Governments on the Private Industry Council Board and the Workforce Development Board. He currently is and has served on several faith and community based organizations.
Jim has an MA in Geography, is a member of the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC), and holds a certificate of completion for the TEDC Basic Economic Development Course.
Board Member and City of Paradise Mayor
Roy Steel has been a member of the Paradise EDC since 2006 and a City Council member since 2008. At the present time, Roy is serving as Mayor of Paradise, the BEST Little City in Wise County. He is proud to be a part of the city government working hard to improve the city, and believes the school system is the very BEST.
Roy also served as Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, including Vietnam, for over 20 years, before retiring. He is married to Pat Steel, who also serves on the Paradise Economic Development Board of Directors. Roy is proud to have served in all of these areas for his city and his country.
Pat Steel joined the Paradise Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors in 2007. Pat is married to Roy Steel, Mayor of the City of Paradise.
She was a stay-at-home mom and worked with her husband. Her husband Roy was in the US ARMY for 20 years, and she was with him most of the time. Now she is a stay-at-home great grandmother of 3 great grandchildren.
Pat now works to do what she can to help the City of Paradise grow and improve what they can for the City of Paradise.
